Edge computing

What does Edge Computing mean?

Edge computing involves storing and processing data locally, i.e. at the edge of the network, instead of sending it to the cloud or corporate data center. Such an approach can be especially useful when low latency is important—for example, when processing videos from an internal monitoring system onsite at a factory. Edge computing is becoming increasingly popular due to the increasing amount of network traffic and data being generated by the growing number of IoT devices.
